Here you will find more information about my psychological consultation services for individuals and couples.
My name is Anne Martine Verhoeven (1988), I am a Dutch psychologist providing psychological consultations for adults in Geneva, Switzerland.
I have been working as a psychologist in the field of psycho-oncology and clinical psychology since 2017.
In 2023 I moved to France to live close to the Alps, where I love to spend my free time.
During these years I have developed a particular interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, such as ADHD, and in learning about adaptive functioning with a neurodivergent mind in our current society.
I am a member of the Fédération Suisse des Psychologues (FSP) and of the Dutch Institute of Psychologists
(Psycholoog NIP ®).
Those I work with appreciate my solution-oriented approach.
I aim to equip people with practical tools to better understand and regulate their thoughts and emotions, and to navigate the challenges of daily life with greater clarity and confidence.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, depression, and challenges related to ADHD. I also provide relationship counselling.
My practice is grounded in evidence-based methods. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method.
Please contact me if you can't find your answer in the following list.
As a client, it's important to feel that your psychologist is the right person to help you better understand—and potentially resolve—your situation. As a psychologist , I aim to offer a fresh perspective and practical tools to help you grow and expand your thinking.
Key ingredients for a positive and effective therapeutic relationship include trust, curiosity about your own inner blueprint, and a willingness to take responsibility for your thoughts, emotions, and actions.
To determine whether I’m the right person to support you—and whether we feel comfortable working together—I offer a free 15-minute phone call. During this conversation, we can discuss your needs and situation, and I can share my initial impressions of what our work together might involve if we choose to move forward.
Psychological counselling calls for an active effort on both sides for the therapy to be successful.
The number of sessions and the frequency of the sessions are dependent upon your personal needs, your personality, and preferred outcomes. In general, I suggest people to have a minimum of three sessions.
In my experience one is able to measure the effectiveness of the sessions within four to six sessions, meaning that there will be a reduction of the feelings of distress or you have a better understanding on how to handle the stressors in your life.
I will not be able to work with people who are in an acute severe crisis, people with active psychosis symptoms, and/or people who have had more than two intensive treatments for personality problems.
Address: Regus The Hive, Route du Nant-d'Avril 150, Meyrin.
Possibility to have our counselling sessions via videocall or in Geneva Centre.
